MHCA specializes in the delivery of psychiatric and behavioral health services through managed care contracting. By being physician-owned and operated, the organization can utilize the expertise of its psychiatrists to develop: (1) more appropriate individualized treatment plans for its members, (2) treatment programs that are more suited to the unique needs of its customers, (3) processes toward control of costs through modification of treatment processes that actually improve care. MHCA is committed to improving the delivery of psychiatric and behavioral health services. With its internally operated Office of Quality Improvement that tracks, among many other components, patient satisfaction and access to care, the organization maintains a high level of responsiveness to our customers. Additionally, outcomes management is a high priority operation of MHCA that enables accurate assessment of treatment plan success. Other very important activities of the Office of Quality Improvement are credentialing and re-credentialing of providers, utilization review, and resolving complaints and grievances. MHCA also operates an employee assistance program, EAP Resources L.L.C. which offers services to companies that may have unique employees relational needs. EAP Resources provides services that can aid the employee with matters that may affect employee performance, guide employees toward accessing psychiatric and behavioral health treatment when needed, and provide help in critical company circumstances.
